Huamin Henry Li, MD, PhD, FAAAAI, FACAAI, is board-certified in allergy and immunology. He received his Allergy and Clinical Immunology training from the Johns Hopkins Asthma and Allergy Center in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Li has been a part-time faculty of medicine at the Johns Hopkins Hospital since 2001, after he finished his fellowship training and spent one year in a private allergy clinic before joining IAA. He is a clinical associate professor at the George Washington University Hospital. Dr. Li received his PhD in Medical Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Texas – where he was awarded the McLaughlin Fellowship Award for excellence in research. Dr. Li has published more than 50 papers in allergy and immunology peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, and has participated in more than 100 clinical trials as a principal investigator. Dr. Li received his medical degree in 1988. He is also an active member of many other medical societies. He has extensive experience in treating both adult and pediatric angioedema, allergic skin diseases, food or drug allergy, immune disorders, sinusitis, asthma and other allergy conditions. Dr. Li is in charge of the Clinical Laboratory of the IAA. The lab is primarily focused on immunology and allergy diagnostic testing, specifically, flow cytometry for immunophenotyping and basophil activation tests for food allergies. The lab also provides support for HAE diagnosis and research.
