He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1995 and completed his pediatric residency at T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital in 1998. After completing a pediatric and adult Allergy/Immunology fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia, Dr. Cromie joined Chattanooga Allergy Clinic in July 2000.
Dr. Cromie is a member of both the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology and the American College of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology. He is on staff at T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital as a clinical instructor and serves as an instructor for the UT College of Medicine Department of Family Practice. Dr. Cromie is active in his community, serving as 2003 Chairman of the American Lung Association Annual Gala. He has previously served as President of the TN Allergy Society and Hamilton County Pediatrics society. Board memberships in the past or present include Jr Achievement, TC Thompson’s Children’s Hospital Foundation, Cystic fibrosis foundation, Emily’s power for a Cure Neuroblastoma research foundation and past chair of the American Lung Association annual gala.
Dr. Cromie and CAC were voted “Best Allergist” since 2009 in Chattanooga as well as North Georgia since 2011 by the Chattanooga Times Free Press readers.
Todd Levin, MD

Dr. Levin is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology and the American College of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology. He is on staff at T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital as a clinical instructor. Dr. Levin is active in his community, serving as 2013 Chairman of the American Lung Association Annual Gala and as the Physician Unit Chair for the 2014 United Way fundraising campaign. He currently serves on the Memorial Health Services credentialing committee and previously served on the MHS Board of directors.
In 2013, the Chattanooga Medical Society named Dr. Levin as a Doctor’s Day honoree after being nominated by patients. He was also selected by Chatter Magazine for their “20 under 40” edition. He was also awarded the Cleveland Daily Banner’s Reader’s Choice Award for Best Allergist in 2015.

Hyman Kaplan, MD

Dr. Kaplan is Board Certified by the American Board of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, in addition to the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is licensed to practice medicine in Tennessee and Georgia.
As the first local certified allergist, Dr. Kaplan established the Chattanooga Allergy Clinic in 1975. He received his undergraduate degree from Emory University and doctorate of medicine from the Medical College of Georgia. Three years of residency in internal medicine was completed at the Medical College of Georgia Hospitals. Dr. Kaplan then completed a two-year fellowship-training program in pediatric and adult allergy and immunology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
As a volunteer he served in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1975. He is on staff at Erlanger/UT College of Medicine as a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine and is Chief of the Allergy Section. Dr. Kaplan is a member of both the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology and the American College of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology.
Jennifer Patel, MD
Dr. Jennifer Patel received her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine and was an Allergy and Immunology Fellow as well as an Internal Medicine Resident at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, so she knows the allergy issues Tennessee residents face firsthand. Dr. Patel has vast experience treating allergy and asthma with both pediatric and adult patients. She also has a special interest in the treatment of food allergies which affect 4% – 6% of children and 4% of adults nationally.
Jessica Van Mason, MD
Dr. Van Mason grew up in the Atlanta area and completed her medical degree and training, including pediatric residency and allergy and immunology fellowship, in Kansas City. She is trained to treat both children and adults with allergy and immunology-related diseases. Her husband is a pediatric pulmonologist at Children’s Hospital at Erlanger, and they moved to Chattanooga in 2020.

She has published articles on accelerated immunotherapy as well as the primary prevention of asthma. Her areas of interest include environmental health and asthma. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga.
